Yup, I tried it. Tongue out Sorry for posting this a day late, I was on my anniversary vacation to the Detroit Zoo and Greenfield Village!

Trip to NYC PDF Print E-mail
Written by Kelly Rush
Thursday, 21 June 2007

I'm just about done with my trip to New York and Connecticut. Currently, I'm stuck in the airport, typing this up on their free wi-fi. We were supposed to take off from La Guardia this morning, but that flight was canceled. We switched our flight over to leave out of Hartford, CT, from Bradley International. Our flight was scheduled to take off at 9am, then slipped to 10am, 11am...and now they say 2pm is a "possibility"...

Anyway, it's been a long, but fun trip, that included going to NYC and seeing the sights (Time Square, Rockefeller Center, Apple Store, etc), doing an interview on a boat, and just getting around and talking to some of our Morae customers. Fun and tiring.

Here are some pictures (set one , set two) from our trip (courtesy of Betsy's Flickr account).

Wish me luck getting home...

Here is my current desktop. Seen in the picture are Pidgin (IM client), Swiftfox (special version of Firefox web browser), Banshee (iTunes-like application), Cairo-clock, and Avant Window Navigator. I've also applied a custom theme to make everything dark, which matches AWN and the wallpaper.

Written by Kelly Rush

This is just a cover I did of the song "Hysteria" by (again) the band "Muse". I did it basically because I wanted to see how well I could do a cover, over the original track of a song. A lot of the videos on YouTube are pretty low-quality, with the person usually playing the music out of their speakers, and the guitar out of their amp, and recording all of this by an internal webcam or laptop microphone. The problem is, for this type of a recording, there is just way too much sound for that little microphone to handle. So I tried something different...

Recording - Citizen Erased by Muse PDF Print E-mail

Sunday, 13 May 2007

Just a quick update, since it is almost 5am...

Anyway, I spent the last few hours recording this version of "Citizen Erased" by the band Muse . I think it turned out pretty well, considering that I had to record each part (in some instances multiple parts) one at a time, and I had to also re-sync some of them in the editing process. I'm going to get the bass part laid down next time my brother is around (he's the bass player in the family).

So if you would like to check it out, here it is

I was fortunate enough to get ahold of a Joost beta account before they (basically) made it public today (I was granted access a few weeks ago). Unfortunately, I use Ubuntu as you all know, and when I tried to install Joost via Wine...I didn't have a lot of success:
