Joost! PDF Print E-mail
Written by Kelly Rush
Thursday, 05 April 2007

I finally received access to the Joost! beta program (after applying almost four months ago). If you didn't notice, I added their banner over on the right, more for my own amusement than any sort of an endorsement of their product.

Boring menu update and a new book PDF Print E-mail
Written by Administrator
Sunday, 01 April 2007

Not very interesting news, but I updated the side menus for hexydes.com, based on some work I did on my Dad's website. I think they look pretty cool now, and I think the "red" theme is complete at this point.

I also ordered a book off of Amazon.com, called "The Principles of Beautiful Web Design" by Jason Beaird. I checked it out today at Borders Books and it looked like quite a good read (especially for people at my level of design, which is better than novice, but not a professional). Lots of pictures and basic explanations of good design practice, etc. I'm looking forward to reading it!

Well, I decided I didn't much care for the concrete theme, and after talking with others that shared that opinion, it's back to the original red/orange theme. I tweaked it a bit, especially with regards to the menu's on the right. I also added some new image content to the "Portfolio" section. Enjoy!

New Template - "Concrete" PDF Print E-mail

Wow, I must get bored easily! As you can see, I made a new default template for the page. I'm not sure if I like it more than the old one or not, so I may switch back, or even make a new one altogether...but that's the good thing about using a CMS on the back-end. I can switch back and forth as much as I like with just a few clicks. Smile

Search by Singing... PDF Print E-mail

Thursday, 15 March 2007

Someone at work sent this link out, which I thought was pretty neat. It is a search engine, like Google, except that you can search either by song name, or by singing/humming into a microphone. I found it to work pretty well, at around 75% accuracy in a quick test of about 10 songs. Check it out if you get a chance...

Navbar Fixed (for realsies this time) PDF Print E-mail

Just a little cleaning up of the house. I finished my Dad's website , and in doing so figured out how to make sure that the navbar is where it is supposed to be on all browsers (I think; I'll need to verify this when I get home). Hopefully that statement stays true...
