Those of you keeping up with my news updates know that I swapped my trusty HTC 8525 for an even trustier HTC Fuze a few weeks ago. Whenever I get a new phone, one of the first things that I do is get a cover for it. Now, as far as phone covers go, I *HATE* the leather ones that AT&T always has at their store. They're just so tacky, huge, and generally make using the phone a process, which is not what I want in a device that I'm constantly using for many different things throughout the day. With my old 3125 "Star Trk", I discovered that the Internet presents many different options in case covers, and ended up going with a very sleek silicone cover. For the 8525, because of the sliding nature of the phone, there really wasn't a similar case, so I went with one that had a hard shell, which had a similar look to the phone itself. However...I was never very happy with that solution. I decided to look around for other options once I got my Fuze.

What I really wanted, in an ideal world, is no case. I buy very slim, sexy phones for a reason, and the last thing I want to do is bulk them up just to protect them. I really don't even need a case to protect against drops, as I am VERY careful with my phones. The only reason I really need one is to make sure that while in my pocket, the phone is protected against scratches, as well as while tapping on the screen. So what I came across is something called the "InvisibleSHIELD", made by a company called Zagg.com. The basic premise of the cover is that it uses an adhesive that sticks to all the parts of your phone, and adds a very thin but durable later between the outside world and the exterior of the phone.

Zagg.com does a lot of their advertising online, and that includes viral sort of marketing via people showing off the case, as well as instructing how to apply them, via YouTube. I noticed that there were no overviews for the Fuze (no surprise, since it is still a new phone at this point). I wrote and asked if they would be interested in sending me a demo unit, which I would use to make an instructional video for the Fuze. Nate from Zagg.com wrote me back promptly asking for an address to ship a unit to. About a week later, I received the cover. I made the video for them (see below), and the case worked out great! I would highly recommend the Zagg.com InvisibleSHIELD covers to anyone who is careful with their phones and simply wants a very strong scratch-protectant cover, because it doesn't get any more discrete or protective than these covers.

And I would like to especially thank Nate from Zagg.com for his help. He was extremely nice in working with me, and while I was anticipatory about working with an online company that I had never heard of before, all of my concerns were put to rest after working with him; I have no doubt that they are anything but a professional company with a very unique product. In my opinion, AT&T would do well to work out a partnership with Zagg.com to get their covers available in their retail stores, because I think customers would be VERY interested in getting these covers for their phones.
